The Arkansas Student Loan Authority (ASLA) was established by the General Assembly in 1977. ASLA is a state, non-profit entity that receives no funding from the State of Arkansas. We service federal student loans for Arkansas colleges and universities and also provide free college funding materials and services to high school students. ASLA gives away several scholarships each year to Arkansas stu
dents. We are known throughout Arkansas for our incredible customer service and positive attitude. Our company culture encourages employees to be caring, compassionate, smiling and energetic. ASLA’s motto is, “We’re Here for You,” and we believe it and live it every day. The Arkansas Student Loan Authority’s college planning services emphasize the importance of higher education. ASLA provides information to assist students to find the best possible college that meets their aspirations. A student resource room is available on site to provide information and resources to parents and students. Computer workstations are available, along with assistance to complete the FAFSA. Each year, the free booklet “How to Pay for College” is distributed to approximately 30,000 high school juniors and seniors in Arkansas. ASLA staff present valuable information to students and parents at financial aid workshops, college fairs, seminars and conferences throughout the state of Arkansas.
