Good afternoon, clients!

Let's clear up a little confusion about today's tax deadline!

📌 If you OWE the IRS: Today is the deadline to file your 2025 tax return if you received an extension.

Filing late may result in additional penalties.

💰 If you're expecting a REFUND: You generally still have time to file without a late-filing penalty, provided you don't owe any taxes.
PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE HAVING MORE TIME TO FILE WITH HAVING FOREVER TO CLAIM YOUR REFUND! Refund claims have their own deadlines.

If you still need to file, have multiple years to catch up on, or have questions about your tax situation, feel free to reach out!

Just a friendly reminder that 5 Shades of Harmony Tax Services is closed Thursday, October 8th through Monday, October 12th.

We will resume business Tuesday, October 13th!

If you submitted all required documents by the October 8th cutoff, your returns will be prioritized for review, updates, and filing ahead of the deadline.

🚨🚨FRIENDLY REMINDER 🚨🚨

If your completed tax return shows a balance owed to the IRS, tax preparation and e-file fees must be paid upfront.

Since there is no refund available to deduct preparation fees from, payment must be received before your return is released and electronically filed.

We completely understand that owing the IRS isn’t the news anyone wants to hear 😩, but our goal is to make the filing process as smooth and transparent as possible.

October 15th is the last day the IRS will accept an electronically filed tax return for the year 2022. If you're filing after this date, you'll have to mail in your tax return for processing.

All of those who are currently on extensions also must file by this date to avoid penalties.
