This sounds backwards until you’ve actually traded for a while.
The fastest way I see beginners destroy themselves is attaching a dollar amount to every trading day.
“I need $500 today.”
Now a perfectly good +$180 trade isn’t enough.
So you take another.
Then another.
Then you give the $180 back trying to force the market to pay you what you decided you deserved that day.
The market doesn’t care about your daily income goal.
What I learned was to focus on executing the same quality setup repeatedly.
Some days that setup gives you $200.
Some days $800.
Your job isn’t to make the market pay you every day.
