🚚🥕 Fresh, nutritious food is on the move this November!

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada's Mobile Harvest program continues to bring fresh, seasonal produce and nutritious foods to communities throughout Washoe County. If you or someone you know could use extra support, visit a Mobile Harvest distribution site near you to access fresh fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods.

November distribution locations include:
📍 Reno
📍 Sparks
📍 Sun Valley and North Valleys
📍 Cold Springs
📍 Stead

Important Thanksgiving schedule update! 🦃

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Mobile Harvest distributions at Echo Loder Elementary School and Second Baptist Church have been moved to Monday, November 30.

Good to know:
• Mobile Harvest sites welcome neighbors to visit once each week.
• New visitors will be asked to complete a short registration form.
• No other documents, qualifications or requirements are needed to receive food.
• Please arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before distribution begins.
• Distribution dates and times may change due to weather, air quality or other emergencies.

One of the best ways to help protect yourself from the flu is to get your yearly flu vaccine. Getting vaccinated can lower your chances of getting the flu and reduce your risk of becoming seriously ill if you do get sick.

If you have questions or concerns about the flu vaccine, talk with your health care provider. Ask about the benefits, possible side effects and when you should get vaccinated. Your provider can help you understand what to expect based on your individual health needs.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a time to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, recognize their contributions and encourage greater understanding.

Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra full or partial copy of chromosome 21. While it can affect physical and intellectual development, every person with Down syndrome has unique strengths, talents and abilities.

National Check Your Meds Day is a great reminder to take a closer look at the medications you use and make sure you understand how to take them safely.

Reviewing your medications with a pharmacist or health care provider can help identify possible drug interactions, answer questions about side effects and make sure your medication list is accurate and up to date.

Remember to include prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and supplements—and never stop or change a medication without talking with your health care provider.
