Condo fees exploding… and turning the American Dream into a monthly nightmare 😱🏢💸

After the subprime crash and 2008 reforms, condos were supposed to be the affordable entry to homeownership. Fast-forward to today: median condo fees hit $420/month — up 29% since 2019 — driven by skyrocketing insurance, massive repairs, and HOA special assessments hitting six figures.
Buildings are becoming uninsurable or unfundable. Values are tanking while single-family homes hold strong. Fannie & Freddie are tweaking rules to help… but is it too little, too late?
