Erik Brandt, Financial Advisor, High Point Financial Group LLC Wealth Strategist for Business Owners & High-Income Professionals | Wealth Management Concierge They need strategy.

I work with business owners, founders, executives, and professionals who are building meaningful wealth and want to manage it intentionally. The people I serve tend to be disciplined, growth-minded, and focused on long-term results. As income increases, businesses grow, and assets accumulate, financial decisions become more interconnected. My role is to bring structure to those decisions across taxes, cash flow, investments, protection, business planning, legacy, and long-term financial independence. I entered financial services in 2018 and quickly realized that successful people rarely need more products. They need a trusted advisor who understands how capital flows through both their business and personal life and can help coordinate decisions efficiently. Many clients come to me during periods of growth or transition:

• Growing or scaling a business
• Increasing income and complexity
• Navigating equity compensation
• Investing in real estate
• Preparing for a future business exit
• Evaluating retirement or financial independence
• Managing significant liquidity events

Others simply want to answer an important question:

"When does work become optional, and what needs to happen to get there?"

Financial independence doesn't necessarily mean stopping work. It means gaining control over how and why you work. When income, assets, and lifestyle are positioned intentionally, decisions become clearer, opportunities become easier to evaluate, and confidence increases. At High Point Financial Group, we serve as a wealth management concierge and strategic planning partner. Our planning-first approach is grounded in tax awareness, disciplined investment structure, risk management, and long-term thinking. Clients hire us first for advice, leadership, and strategic guidance. From there, we help coordinate and implement the solutions that best support their goals. The objective is straightforward:

Build a strategy that supports the life you want to live and the legacy you want to create. Areas of Focus

• Tax-Conscious Wealth Planning
• Business Owner Strategy & Exit Planning
• Equity Compensation Planning
• Cash Flow & Liquidity Structuring
• Investment Oversight & Risk Management

You can build a multimillion-dollar business and still not have the freedom to snowboard on a Tuesday.

It’s something we see more often than you might think.

Business owners spend years building successful companies. Revenue grows. Employees are hired. Opportunities expand.

But somewhere along the way, their personal financial lives take a back seat.

Profits get reinvested into the business. Cash moves between accounts. New opportunities require more capital. And the owner becomes increasingly responsible for keeping everything moving.

On paper, they’ve built significant wealth.

But how much of that wealth is actually working for them?

That’s where the conversation needs to shift.

Not just:

* "How do we grow the business?"
* "Which financial strategies can I use to reduce taxes?"
* "What can help increase profitability?"

But also:

How do we turn business success into personal financial freedom?

That means creating a strategy to:

âś… Separate business and personal finances
âś… Build wealth outside the company
âś… Protect the family and what has been built
âś… Tax efficient strategies, retirement, and estate planning
✅ Reduce the business’s dependence on the owner
âś… Create a path from operator to owner

Because the ultimate goal shouldn’t just be building a valuable business.

It should be building a business that gives you the freedom to live the life you actually want.

That’s the difference between business planning and comprehensive wealth strategy.

And it’s why I believe the two should never happen in isolation.

Future tax rates are impossible to predict, but even modest changes can affect how much retirement income you actually keep. Looking beyond account balances and considering after-tax income can provide a more complete view of retirement readiness.

If you'd like to discuss how changing tax rates could affect your retirement income and explore strategies that may help improve your long-term financial flexibility, let's connect.

There is a big difference between having more assets and having a life that feels more aligned. Growth alone does not solve everything.

Many people build strong business and financial momentum, only to realize later that their personal goals have changed. What worked when the priority was to grow may not work when the priority is to preserve time, flexibility, and quality of life. That is where structure matters. Not as a buzzword, but as the quiet system behind better decisions.

The life cycle of wealth is really about transition as much as accumulation. Every stage asks you to reexamine what you are protecting, what you are still building, and what no longer fits. Taxes, ownership, and long term planning can all affect whether progress feels clear or chaotic. More complexity is not always a sign of better planning.

Sometimes the smartest move is creating a simpler path that is still aligned with your values. Wealth should support your life, not become a separate full time project. That shift in perspective is often where real confidence begins.

One of the interesting things about financial success is that it often creates an entirely new set of challenges.

Not necessarily because something is wrong.

But because there's more to coordinate.

A successful career, equity compensation, real estate, investments, taxes, family responsibilities, and the next opportunity.

Each decision might make sense on its own. But what happens when you look at all of them together?

That's where I think financial planning becomes especially valuable.

It's not always about finding another investment or chasing a higher return.

It's about understanding how each decision impacts the others, prioritizing opportunities, and creating a strategy that supports both profitability and quality of life.

I put together a few examples of the conversations that go into that process.

Which of these areas do you think gets overlooked most often?
