FLASH FLOODING EXTENDED | The flash flood warning for Hardee, Highlands, and Desoto counties has been extended until 3:45 PM EST. Between 5-12 inches of rain has fallen and an additional 1-3 inches are possible for the area. Be safe!

ISAIAS | Latest track is 200 miles or more WEST of Tampa Bay.

Tropical Depression #9: We now have TD #9. The NHC predicts this will become Isaias and eventually become a Cat 2 hurricane before landfall. The track is exactly as we have been forecasting with landfall around Mobile Bay. Updates to come.

TROPICS | Our red blob in the Atlantic basin is getting better organized and has a 100% chance of development. Advisories will be issued later today or tonight as it moves slowly eastward. For now, it is expected to turn north. Still hammering on the specifics on that. Those in Louisiana through the Florida panhandle continue to stay alert.

TROPICS | New update from NHC increases chance of Gulf storm to 90%. Low pressure is beginning to become more organized this morning and a tropical depression may form as early as later today. No changes to forecast with this

Overnight Tropical Thoughts:

1. Classic setup. Stalled front. Low pressure develops along tail end. Moves North. We've been saying this is the most likely setup for months. So, now what?

2. A track to the North is VERY likely. We never say never in the Gulf, but New Orleans to Pensacola seems like the right forecast track.

3. Intensity. As we said earlier today, a faster track likely means a stronger storm due to less shear. A slower track likely means more shear and weaker storm . Right now, looks like the faster track plays out.

4. Chances are increasing Isaias develops and becomes a hurricane as it approaches the Northern Gulf Coast late this week.

5. Impacts on our area? As of now, little to none.

6. I'll continue to update exact track and intensity as many of us have friends and family up there.
