KIA & Hyundai models most at risk for theft are those vehicles which require a key in the ignition to be started. If your vehicle has an ignition that requires a key to start the vehicle, and is listed among the vehicles below, you should look-up your vehicle VIN online to find out if your vehicle is affected.

What solutions are KIA / Hyundai offering to help address the recent up-tick in thefts?
• Hyundai is rolling out a free anti-theft software upgrade for those affected vehicles throughout 2023. An anti-theft sticker will also be provided at the time of the software upgrade to alert would-be thieves that the vehicle has anti-theft protection. Reach out to your local Hyundai dealer to schedule service.
• KIA is rolling out a free software upgrade for those affected vehicles throughout 2023. Reach out to your local KIA dealer to schedule service.

While KIA and Hyundai are looking to update the anti-theft system as quickly as possible, it may take time for them to get to all affected vehicles.
