We have our last two staff members’ book suggestions today!

One of our Member Service Representatives/Tellers, Priscilla, said that she really enjoyed “The Spiderwick Chronicles” series by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi when she was younger.
Another Representative/Teller, Kendra, read “I Like Myself” by Karen Beaumont to her children when they were little and enjoyed the illustrations and message of self-love. She is also a fan of the “Harry Potter” book series.

It is the final day of our “Read Across America Week” celebration, but you don’t need to stop! “Read Across America” is a year-round program launched by the National Education Association promoting literacy and the joy of reading to children across the country that will last a lifetime. We hope that our members will continue to read and share their love for reading with others in their communities.

One of our Loan Officers, Lisa, recently read “The Housemaid” by Sarah A. Denzel. It’s a chilling psychological thriller featuring a young woman who takes a live-in-housemaid position at Highwood Hall, hoping to uncover the truth about her mother’s mysterious disappearance years earlier. If you enjoy a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is one for you!

There were several suggestions made by one of our Member Service Representatives/Tellers, Deja. She said her favorite childhood book was “There Are Rocks in My Socks Said the Ox to the Fox” by Patricia Thomas. She intends to read “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee and “If Beale Street Could Talk” by James Baldwin soon.

Members of our staff were glad to share some of their favorite books with our credit union members. We will be going through some of their suggestions throughout this week!

Our CEO, Bobby, states that The Bible is his favorite book to pick up!
Our Teller Supervisor, Bethany, recommends The Giving Tree and The Wonky Donkey to our members. She said The Giving Tree is a classic choice and is sentimental to her, while The Wonky Donkey is a children's book that had her giggling.

We are celebrating Read Across America Week with a book donation drive!
We will be donating your gently loved books to our local libraries and schools at the end of the week. The first 20 members to donate a book will receive a special treat as a token of our appreciation.
Come by, donate a book, and grab some of our magnetic bookmarks to accompany you on your next reading adventure!

Please note that to use the “Tap to Pay” function our new MasterCard debit cards offer, you need to perform a physical Chip transaction first. Afterwards you may use the “Tap to Pay” benefit at any terminal that accepts it. If you prefer to insert your card when making a purchase, you may continue to do so.

The new MasterCard debit cards are currently unable to be added to our members’ Digital Wallets. We are working on this and expect that the issue will be resolved by the end of February, and the cards can be added to your Digital Wallet.
