Maui friends, what are you doing Saturday afternoon?

I'll be attending Team Tako Eye's fundraiser for the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer's this Saturday and hope you'll stop by and join us.

This family-friendly event will feature bingo, local vendors, food, drinks, and information about Alzheimer's disease, all while raising funds to support the Alzheimer's Association and families impacted by dementia.

I'll be there representing A Honu Space with an informational table and would love the opportunity to meet you, answer questions, and share resources for organizing, downsizing, aging in place, caregiving, and supporting loved ones living with cognitive changes.

Not everything needs to end up in the landfill.

I work with over a dozen Maui agencies, nonprofits, shelters, and community groups to help get useful items back into the hands of people who actually need them.

Furniture.
Kitchen items.
Shoes.
Storage bins.
Household goods.
Everyday basics.

To one person it may feel like clutter.
To someone else, it can make a huge difference.

If you are overwhelmed, downsizing, clearing out, or just tired of looking at the pile, hire me and I will help responsibly remove items that are no longer serving you.

In many families, one person quietly becomes responsible for almost everything.
The appointments.
The paperwork.
The groceries.
The calls.
The reminders.
The emotional weight.
And usually the clutter and household systems too.
People wait until they are completely overwhelmed before asking for help because somewhere along the way they convinced themselves they should be able to handle it all alone.

That is not sustainable long term.

As a professional organizer, I do not just organize closets.
I help create systems that reduce stress, improve safety, support caregivers, and make daily life more manageable.

Support is not weakness.
Structure is not failure.
And one exhausted child is not a long term care plan.

One conversation can open the door to a new connection, collaboration, or opportunity.

Recently I had the chance to attend a networking event at Akamai Broadcasting and spend time inside the studio meeting other Maui entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders.

We talked story about caregiving, organizing, community support, business, and the very real challenges families are navigating behind closed doors.

What I love about spaces like this is the reminder that organizing is about so much more than “stuff.” It is about helping people create safer, more functional, less overwhelming lives.

Community conversations matter.
Education matters.
Connection matters.

Grateful for opportunities to share what I do through A Honu Space while also meeting other people out there doing meaningful work for Maui. 🌺

There is something surreal about opening a box and seeing your words turned into a real book.

Lanterns in the Dark is my second published short story collaboration, and holding these copies in my hands felt emotional in a way I was not fully prepared for.

Writing is strange sometimes.
You quietly carry stories, experiences, grief, lessons, and memories for years. Then one day they exist outside of you, printed onto pages that someone else may read during a season they desperately need it.

This book is filled with stories of survival, scars, resilience, and light. I am deeply grateful to be part of it alongside so many courageous writers willing to tell the truth about hard things.

Watching kūpuna, caregivers, friends, and community members hold these books has honestly been one of the best parts.

Stories matter.
People matter.
Connection matters.

People do not stop doing laundry because they are lazy.

Sometimes physical limitations, grief, exhaustion, memory issues, depression, pain, or simply being overwhelmed turns one missed load into weeks or months.

I recently helped a kūpuna prepare for a trip and realized he had no clean underwear left.

No judgment.
No lecture.
Just a problem that needed support, structure, and care.

So we washed.
Folded.
Sorted.
Reset the system.
And made sure he had what he needed to leave feeling prepared and cared for.

This kind of work is rarely glamorous, but it matters deeply.

Because sometimes dignity looks like:
fresh sheets,
clean clothes,
organized drawers,
and one less thing weighing on someone’s mind.

People are carrying more than we often realize.
A little support can change everything.

Caregiving is not just appointments and medications.
It is presence.
Patience.
Advocacy.
Love.
Yesterday one of my kūpuna clients, finally held a copy of Voices of Care in her hands.
She slowly ran her hand across the cover and said:
“Even just the colors alone make me feel calm. Good choice.”
It melted my heart to hear that.
This book was written from real caregiving experiences, real grief, real love, and real human stories. Watching a 97 year old woman receive it with such tenderness reminded me that words matter, stories matter, and how something makes people feel matters too.

Supporting kūpuna is not about rushing people through life.
It is about slowing down enough to truly see them, we must meet them where they are, not where we want them to be!

So much community work happens quietly.
No headlines, a lot of behind the scenes and just people showing up.

Aulani from Lahaina Resource & Recovery Center – Nā Kiaʻi O Maui shared that they were creating a private Mother’s Day shopping event for fire survivor moms and were looking for donations and volunteers.

I reached out to a few women I know and within hours Li Hay, Dayna Moore, Sanoe Cabanting, Swell Life Shop, Erin Frank, and Myrna Breen all immediately stepped up with donations and support!

I later volunteered at the event myself and got to watch these very humble, grateful invited moms come in, shop, receive roses, enjoy refreshments, and just have a moment to breathe.

Maui really does show up for each other. 🌺

Most of the time, caregiving doesn’t get shared equally.

It falls on one person.

And over time, that weight becomes a lot to carry alone.

What I see every day in homes across Maui is not a lack of care.
It’s people doing their best without enough support.

If you’re in that role, I see you.
If someone you love is in that role, check on them.

Support matters.
