Before choosing a mortgage, I want you to understand how it works beyond the first payment.

With an adjustable-rate mortgage, that means knowing when the rate can change, how often it can adjust, and the limits on those changes. With a fixed rate, remember that taxes and insurance can still change your total monthly payment.

The goal is to know what you’re signing up for, and feel comfortable with it.

Make sure you look beyond the listing price to the estimated monthly costs and cash you’ll need at closing. You deserve to feel comfortable with the numbers, too.
