Here’s the full circus, as promised. 🎪

My wife always goes above and beyond planning our family costumes. Some friends happened to have some circus themed props too so we set up the driveway, handed out nachos and popcorn with the candy, and had a lot of neighbors stop by to visit. I definitely love the circus we call family!

Every year my wife coordinates our family Halloween costumes, and it usually fits life with six kids. We’ve been a zoo, Beauty and the Beast... you get the idea. 😂

My family just wrapped up another season with TOPSoccer, and I’m still thinking about how much it means to us.

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of what’s happening beyond our own corner of the world but it's evenings like this that help me take a step back and focus on something bigger than myself.

I had the chance to lead the closing night across four sessions, with about 80 soccer players and their buddies learning skills, playing games, and enjoying the field together. Seeing the players try new things, enjoy the game, and share the field with their buddies reminds me how much a welcoming and inclusive program can mean to our community.

We’re grateful to be part of TOPSoccer, and we always come away feeling like we received far more than we gave.

One of the best parts of this fall has been showing up for local sports as a family.

We’ve spent a lot of evenings watching high school girls’ soccer, made it through a district championship in the pouring rain and taken our boys to football games they absolutely loved.

There’s something special about cheering for players and coaches we’ve gotten to know. It’s also been a great way for our kids to see the talent, effort and support that exist right here in our community.

The weather hasn’t always cooperated, but the memories have been worth it.

Some of the most useful ways I’ve applied AI have been in the everyday work of running my business.

I use ChatGPT Enterprise through New York Life as a sounding board to process thoughts, brainstorm ideas, and work through different approaches. Muse helps me with email tracking, calendaring, and reminders. I’ve also started exploring Claude, though I’m still early in that process.

I’m interested in building on what’s working—finding practical ways to stay organized, sharpen my thinking, and make better use of my time.

Walked into the living room this morning and found this guy with the tub of ice cream.

Apparently breakfast was no longer a decision that required parental approval. 😂

I asked him what he was doing and he looked at me like I was the one being unreasonable.

Six kids in, and I’m still reminded daily that you can have a plan for how the day is going to go… and then somebody decides it’s a cookies & cream for breakfast kind of day.

Parents — what’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve caught your kid doing before you were fully awake? 😂

“Will you walk with me?”

That’s what one of the TOPSoccer athletes asked our daughter before a Skyline High School girls’ varsity soccer game. This one was special for these athletes because they got to walk out onto the soccer pitch before the game and be received by the players from each team.

This daughter usually misses TOPSoccer because of her own practices and games, but this season she’s been able to help a little more.

She took her hand, and off they went.

It was a simple moment, but it meant a lot to her—and to us.

Today, an American flag flies in my yard in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001, in honor of the heroes who ran toward danger, and in gratitude for the courage and unity shown in the days that followed.

May we never forget the sacrifices made, the families forever changed, and the strength that brought our nation together. 🇺🇸

TOPSoccer is such a neat program through Idaho Falls Futbol Club. Volunteer buddies work alongside athletes with disabilities, helping them practice skills, participate, and have fun. My daughter and I started helping during the last spring season and kicked off the new fall season last night! It's really amazing to watch everyone out there learning and enjoying the game together. ⚽
