The 996 Carrera just might be the best bang for the buck Porsche on the market. The timeless 911 shape combined with the prolific naturally aspirated flat 6 make it one of the most iconic sports cars in the world.
The 996’s from this era (1999-2004) benefit substantially from some basic bolt-on mods, especially the IPD Plenums. We offer 3 different versions… Our Cable Plenum for the early (1998 ROW / 1999 US) Carrera 2’s that utilize the OE 74mm Cable throttle body. Our 996 Standard Plenum that fits the factory 74mm E-Gas TB and our Carrera Comp Plenum that requires upgrading to the larger 82mm GT3 TB.
The efficiencies of the IPD Plenums and larger TB options deliver impressive NET gains across both power curves. And being naturally aspirated, bigger is almost always better, even down low in the RPM band. The Carrera Plenums produce solid gains down and up high, but the bulk of the gains are realized in the mid-range, where we want and enjoy them most.
