Every four years, Modern Woodmen members across the country elect delegates to gather for a National Convention. This representative form of government is part of what makes us unique as a fraternal financial services organization.

We had the honor and privilege to award Jaimes Clubhouse for one of our Hometown Hero awards. Jaimes Clubhouse is so much more than a place for children to spend their day. It’s a safe, nurturing environment where little ones are cared for, encouraged, and helped to grow. With patience, kindness, and endless energy, they create a space where children feel valued, supported, and loved.

It truly was our pleasure to be able to award her with our Hometown hero award! Congratulations again!

Did you know Modern Woodmen members had their own version of Memorial Day?

In the late 1800s, Modern Woodmen camps (now chapters) set aside a special day – typically the first Sunday in June – to honor members who had passed away. This tradition is believed to have begun in 1890 in Dubuque, Iowa, before spreading to camps across the country. Many chapters continue this tradition today.

These remembrance days were intentionally held on a different date so members could also fully observe the national Memorial Day – a time dedicated to honoring and remembering the servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
