Honolulu Federal Credit Union was chartered on December 3, 1936 as a financial cooperative for U.S. It was the 5th credit union formed in what was the Territory of Hawaii. On September 21, 2015 we were rebranded as HOCU, which means "for a brighter future." The objective of HOCU is to provide high savings rates and low loan rates to our members and be their primary financial institution. Today, HOCU has more than 15,000 members served by over 40 employees at 4 branches:
Federal Building, Airport, Tripler, and Moili'ili.

Meet our newest HOCU employee, Wen Fang Zhao! 🙌

Wen's family emigrated from China's Guangdong Province to Hawaiʻi when he was 5 years old. Despite growing up on Oʻahu, he has remained connected to his cultural roots and speaks Cantonese fluently.

Prior to joining HOCU, Wen earned his BA from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and worked as a Pharmaceutical Technician at Family Pharmacy.

Congratulations, Wen, on completing your second week at HOCU! We're excited to welcome you to the HOCU ʻohana as our new Accounting Representative! 🎉🎉

We filled the truck! 🚛📄

Mahalo to our staff, members, and community for showing up big at our Shred-It Day at Moiliili Branch on Saturday, October 17! Together, we filled an entire Shred-It truck with old documents that are now safely shredded.

A big shoutout to our awesome volunteers for keeping things moving all morning. We couldn’t have done it without you!
