Scammers often employ intimidation tactics to pressure their targets into sharing information. These tactics may lead targets to feel as though they are out of control of the situation and/or obligated to comply with the intimidator. If you ever find yourself answering an unexpected phone call, take a moment to stop and evaluate the conversation 🧐 If the conversation seems fishy, don’t be afraid to hang up and verify the caller’s authenticity through official sources.⁠

Happy Aloha Friday! 🥳

Last week Thursday, we celebrated International Credit Union Day, and we had the privilege of meeting with Mayor Rick Blangiardi, along with credit union leaders from across the island, to honor the credit unions of O'ahu and proclaim October 15th, 2026, as International Credit Union Day. As we reflect on our 90 years of service to our community, we are deeply grateful for those who instilled, and continue to perpetuate the credit union philosophy of "people helping people". Mahalo for being a part of this movement, it is amazing to see how strong our community can be when we unite!

The Books and Beyond program was introduced into the Lōkahi FCU Kaneʻohe Branch in collaboration with Hō'ea - Wealth Advisory Group and aims to provide keiki with access to books while promoting early literacy development. We are so excited to host this reading corner for our Windward visitors, and we hope you and your keiki enjoy the adventure, wonder, and imagination that comes with a good read 💫⁠

We are celebrating all across Oʻahu at each of our Lōkahi Federal Credit Union branches 🎉 Pop by a branch and grab some goodies to commemorate the credit union movement with members and organizations around the globe. Happy World Teachersʻ Day 💫 We are deeply thankful for the educators that have guided us throughout our lives, and we are honored to continue to work alongside educators to empower students with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate their personal finances.

Over the past few years, we have had the opportunity to collaborate with teachers across the island through providing Banzai financial literacy resources and tools to help students learn skills that will serve them for a lifetime. By opening their classrooms to these learning opportunities, educators are actively developing a stronger, more financially resilient future for Hawaiʻi 💪🏽

We had a blast making Keiki and Kupuna IDs at last weekend’s Celebrate Safe Communities event at Pearlridge 🤝 During times of emergency, these IDs can help identify and reunite missing keiki and elders to their families.

We were also proud to partner with Pearl City High School's CASHL Academy to help their students earn required community service hours through this meaningful volunteer opportunity 💞

Mahalo to everyone who volunteered their time and the families who stopped by to create an ID for their loved ones, and for all of the agencies that made this year’s fair so informative and engaging! Swipe to see some big smiles 😁
