Your Bilt card is changing, here are your deadlines.

Bilt just announced its 2027 changes. If you have a Bilt card, Bilt will switch you to its new rewards on your card anniversary unless you opt out in the app first.

💳 Love 4% Bilt Cash? Opt out before your anniversary. Once you opt out, you can’t switch back later.

🏠 Rather earn on rent? Do nothing and earn up to 1.25x points on rent or mortgage, based on how much you put on the card each month.

🏨 Hyatt plans? Move your points by December 31. Starting January 1, 1,000 Bilt points only get you 750 Hyatt points.

🚫 No Bilt card? Starting January 15, rent paid through Bilt earns Daily Rewards instead of guaranteed points.

Good news: Bilt points still transfer 1:1 to Atmos Rewards, so your rent can still turn into flights on Hawaiian and Alaska. ✈️

Me? Bilt is still a power card, but I’m deciding by next year whether to downgrade my Palladium. 🤙

Amex Platinum just changed. Here’s what’s new, what’s going away, and what I’m doing as a Hawaii cardholder before Jan 1.

Key dates: Oct 22 new perks. Oct 30 the Gold Uber One credit ends. Book any one-night stay by early Dec. Jan 1, 2027 the 2-night rule starts. Feb 17, 2027 the business card perks narrow.

New on Platinum: Airbnb is now on Amex Travel with 5X on prepaid stays. A new $250 Airbnb Experiences credit unlocks after an Airbnb Luxe booking. The Hotel Credit is now the Lodging Credit, still $600 a year, and Luxe stays of 2+ nights count.

Going away: one-night Fine Hotels + Resorts stays (ends Jan 1, 2027), Lufthansa lounges (Oct 1) and the Saks credit (Jun 30).

Business Platinum: $500 a year toward ZO event space or Dining Club, plus a free ZO membership. Mainland cities only.

UPS.com replaced FedEx on the $240 Flexible Business Credit.

My move: book a one-night FHR stay by early Dec, use your Q4 Resy ($100) and lululemon ($75) by Dec 31, and plan 2027 as 2-night trips. That sushi is from DOMODOMO Hawaii in Ewa Beach.

The 2-night rule: from Jan 1, 2027, FHR stays need 2+ nights for the $300 credit.

Life update: we’re officially a family of 6 🤍

We celebrated with our first staycation as six: 2 nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikīkī. Big sister feeding the baby, pool days with the whole crew, and a short media shoot at our favorite staycation happy hour, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman

Here’s how we did it for a lot less 👇

1️⃣ Kamaʻāina rate: We booked 2 nights at the local resident rate
2️⃣ Hilton Aspire resort credit: Our card credit covered a good chunk of the stay
3️⃣ Diamond status upgrade: Status from the Hilton Aspire helped us land a Tapa Tower one-bedroom suite. I paid a little extra for it, but with 4 kids, the space is worth it. It’s my favorite room at the Village.

Diamond has gotten us an upgrade on every stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village so far. Upgrades are never guaranteed, but having status makes a real difference for families.

Bigger ʻohana, same mission: helping Hawaiʻi families travel more for less. Mahalo for following along and being part of our journey. 🙏

✈️ Why booking through Qantas is a great option:
Most people don’t have a big stash of Atmos points, but a lot of locals are sitting on Amex, Capital One or Citi points. Since those transfer to Qantas, you can still grab these business class seats without starting from zero. It costs more points than booking with Atmos, but it turns the points you already have into a lie-flat seat to Australia.
