On Monday, First Friends made our way back to Reykjavík for our final full day in this incredible country! After morning of traveling, we spent the afternoon relaxing at the world-famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a truly unique geothermal seawater lagoon, known for its milky-blue waters and rich blend of silica, algae, and minerals. This one-of-a-kind experience was the perfect way to unwind after a week of exploring Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes! Our group enjoyed the steam cave, the rejuvenating face mask bar, the massage waterfall, and even an in-water beverage bar. What an unforgettable experience!

We wrapped up our Iceland adventure with a wonderful group dinner at Höfnin, followed by one last chance for many to explore downtown Reykjavík and soak up the charm of this beautiful city.

Today, we begin our journey home with hearts full of gratitude, cameras full of pictures, and memories that will last a lifetime! Iceland has given us so many incredible moments to treasure! 🇮🇸. On Sunday, First Friends continued exploring the incredible beauty of Iceland’s south coast, and what a day it was! Our First stop: Skógafoss Waterfall! This massive waterfall is one of Iceland’s most spectacular sights! According to local folklore, the first Viking settler in the area hid a treasure chest filled with gold behind the waterfall. 💛 Would you brave the elements to search for it? Our group certainly had to brave the elements just to get there! With 20 mph winds and temperatures hovering around 30 degrees, our hike from the parking lot was VERY COLD, but absolutely worth it!

Next, we stepped back in time at the Skógar Museum, a fascinating cultural museum featuring more than 18,000 regional artifacts spread across three buildings. It was a wonderful glimpse into Iceland’s history, traditions, and way of life.

After a fabulous lunch in Vík, we continued our adventure to the beautiful Brúaráfoss Waterfall, where the stunning blue water provided another unforgettable view. And just when you think Iceland couldn’t possibly get any more beautiful… we arrived at the famous Black Sand Beach! The dramatic black sand, powerful ocean waves, and breathtaking scenery are simply incredible. Iceland truly knows how to leave you speechless!

After dinner, some of our adventurous travelers headed back outside hoping to catch another glimpse of the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, the lights weren’t nearly as spectacular as they were on our first night, but we are so grateful for the magical display we experienced earlier in the week!

From towering waterfalls and fascinating history to black sand beaches and the dancing Northern Lights, Iceland continues to amaze us at every turn. There truly are no words to describe the beauty of this incredible country!

Today, First Friends will be making our way back to Reykjavík as we continue soaking up every last bit of this unforgettable adventure! We would love for YOU to come live, laugh, travel, with us!

Iceland continues to amaze us! On Saturday, First Friends headed to the east coast of Iceland, where Mother Nature put on quite a show!

Today, we traveled along part of Iceland’s famous Ring Road! This approx 830-mile paved highway forms a continuous loop around the island, connecting many of Iceland’s most spectacular natural wonders.

Did you know Iceland’s landscape was dramatically shaped by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history? The 1783–1784 Laki eruption sent volcanic gases and ash across Europe, and its effects were felt far beyond Iceland. Today, enormous lava fields still cover parts of the country, and the rugged, otherworldly landscape is a constant reminder of the incredible forces that created this island.

One of today’s most breathtaking stops was Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, home to magnificent icebergs that break away from the nearby Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. We stood in awe of these incredible formations! Because this glacier reaches the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, chunks of ice break away and enormous pieces float through the lagoon and eventually drift toward the ocean. Some wash up on the nearby black-sand beach, where the sparkling ice looks like giant diamonds scattered across the dark volcanic sand. The contrast is absolutely breathtaking!

We also visited another glacier near Fagurhólsmýri, where a naturally formed opening in the ice looked remarkably like a heart. 💙

Of course, we ventured out again last night in hopes of seeing the Northern Lights, but they didn’t cooperate quite like they did on Thursday! We’ll keep our fingers crossed and try again tonight. First Friends are enjoying every day of this adventure. We hope you will travel with us soon!

On Friday, First Friends left Reykjavík and headed out on a scenic journey toward Vík, discovering some of Iceland’s most incredible natural wonders along the way. Iceland is truly a land of fire and ice! Formed by volcanic activity, this fascinating island is home to around 30 active volcanic systems. It’s also known for its powerful winds and ever-changing weather, making every day here an adventure!

Our first stop was one of Iceland’s most fascinating natural wonders—the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. These two massive plates are slowly drifting apart, and Iceland is one of the few places in the world where you can actually see the effects of this movement above ground. Standing between two continents was an unforgettable experience! Next, we explored the spectacular sights of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle! We watched in amazement as the Strokkur geyser erupted, sending boiling water high into the air, admired the beautiful geothermal landscapes, and took in the breathtaking power of the Golden Waterfall. And for a little extra adventure, we even had the incredible opportunity to hike behind the falls! Feeling the mist, hearing the roar of the rushing water, and seeing this magnificent waterfall from such a unique perspective made the experience even more unforgettable. What a day filled with natural wonders, incredible scenery, and a little adventure! Iceland continues to amaze us at every turn. Come live, laugh, travel with First Friends!

First Friends arrived in Iceland on Thursday morning. There was no time to sleep because as soon as we arrived, we explored the charming streets of Reykjavík, and what a magical day it was. We explored this quaint city on a walking tour, stopped to enjoy one of Iceland’s famous and oh-so-delicious pulsa or pylsa (hot dogs- IYKYK) , and savored an amazing dinner at a local favorite, Röst! But the highlight of the day / night, was looking up at the sky and witnessing the MAGIC of the Northern Lights! There’s nothing quite like seeing this natural wonder dance across the Icelandic sky, and it’s a moment our travelers won’t soon forget! And just to think that was only Day-1! Today we are off to Vik to continue exploring the breathtaking views of Iceland. And as the sun sets, we’ll keep our eyes on the skies and our fingers crossed for another magical glimpse of the Northern Lights! We hope you will travel with us soon!

Wednesday marked Day 9 of the First Friends Route 66 Adventure, and what a way to wrap up an incredible journey! Our first stop was a peek inside our Wigwam Motel! We checked in… well, sort of! Everyone loved getting a look inside and agreed that we definitely wished we could have stayed in one of these iconic Route 66 wigwams! Next stop: Los Angeles Farmers Market for lunch and a little free time to explore. Of course, we couldn’t be in LA without experiencing a little Hollywood! We toured the area, walked the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and visited the legendary Chinese Theatre. Then came the moment we had all been waiting for…. SANTA MONICA PIER! After traveling thousands of miles along the Mother Road, we finally reached the “End of the Trail!” The cheers, smiles, and excitement said it all as we gathered for our official celebratory photo on the pier. And because First Friends always like to end a great adventure with something special, we had one more surprise in store — dinner at the legendary Lawry’s in Hollywood! We raised our glasses and toasted to an absolutely FABULOUS trip!

This journey was especially meaningful because 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of Route 66! And we are incredibly proud to have traveled so many miles experiencing the history, hidden treasures, iconic landmarks, incredible food, and beautiful scenery that make this country so special. And now we can officially say we got our kicks on Route 66! First Friends — Live • Laugh • Travel

Day 8— on Tuesday- First Friends made it to California! We woke to a beautiful sky over the Mojave Desert- which covers over 25,000 square miles, and also where we have been traveling the past 2 days while in Arizona and now California. We kicked things off with breakfast at the famous Route 66 Wagon Wheel, then continued our journey through some incredible pieces of Mother Road history. We explored the Goffs Schoolhouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and built in 1914, along with the historic Goffs Train Depot, which was once the heart of this small community with daily train stops. Next up… Roy’s Motel for the quintessential Route 66 photo op! Of course, no California road trip would be complete without lunch at In-N-Out Burger. We then spent some time soaking up even more Route 66 history at the Route 66 Mother Road Museum before ending our day at the legendary Mitla Café in San Bernardino. Established in 1937, this longtime favorite is still family-owned and continues to be a beloved part of the community.
From historic schoolhouses and train depots to classic motels, museums, burgers, and legendary cafés… First Friends are definitely getting our kicks on Route 66!

On Day 7- First Friends first stop was Seligman, Arizona — aka “Radiator Springs!” This charming little town is said to have inspired the fictional town of Radiator Springs in Disney-Pixar’s Cars, and it was every bit as fun and colorful as you’d imagine! We loved stepping back in time and soaking up the classic Route 66 atmosphere. Next stop: the legendary Hackberry General Store in Kingman, AZ. It is a true Route 66 icon filled with vintage memorabilia, quirky treasures, and plenty of photo opportunities. After working up an appetite, we enjoyed lunch at Grand Canyon Brewing + Distillery in Kingman. What a great way to refuel before the afternoon adventures! Then it was off to Oatman, a wild little Old West town where the streets are still roamed by some very friendly—and very hungry—burros! Despite the scorching Arizona heat, everyone managed to make some new four-legged friends and, of course, feed the burros! We wrapped up another incredible day with dinner at Hooch’s on Route 66, a local family-owned restaurant. Supporting local businesses along the way makes these adventures even more special! From Radiator Springs to burro country, Day 7 was another unforgettable chapter on the Mother Road! We would love for you to come Live, Laugh, Travel with First Friends!
