Yesterday, was the 3rd and final day of the First Friends Mystery Trip. By today, everyone had connected the "mystery" dots that everything we did- including the meals had something to do with animals. We woke to sunshine for the first time today, and everyone was so happy about that! The last stop on the "Wild about the South" mystery trip was the Hope Ranch Zoo. A precious family started a zoo at their home just 3 years ago, and now I don't think there is an animal you can name from A to Z, they have not rehabilitated and is now being loved in their public zoo. Note: the photos only represent about half of the animals we saw yesterday. If you are looking for a special day trip to take with family or friends, this would be the place! And if you are looking to meet new people, and have some fun, we hope you would consider traveling with First Friends!

On Day 2- of our "Wild about the South" mystery trip, we woke to rain - lots of rain- but that didn't slow First Friends down! We headed to the Incacheetoo Plantation & Petting Zoo. It was established in 1762. We spent the morning feeding and learning about so many wonderful animals on their farm: mini goats, cows, miniature cows, the African watusi, bulls, chickens, emu, and more! We did not let the rain slow us down, because we also enjoyed and cheered for our favorite pig at the pig races, and toured the property on a hay ride! An interesting fact is the "Dixie Highway", the 1st highway to run from Michigan to Miami, ran through their property. It also ran county line to county line through Griffin! Such a neat connection of history! After lunch (in the rain) it was time for First Friends to become real "shrimpers" as we boarded the Lady Jane for a sh*****ng expedition. We learned so much about the Georgia coast and the amazing creatures who live in our coastal waters! Finally, it was off to the the Sea Turtle Center where we learned about turtles and how this amazing hospital has nursed so many turtles ban to health over their 19 years in business. Day-2 of our mystery trip had so much charm and appreciation for the wild life of Georgia! We hope you will consider traveling with us soon!

Day 1 of our mystery Trip- "Wild about the South" - began with a rest stop to Buc-ees, because - well - everyone just loves Buc-ees! Then it was off for the rest of the day to the 438,000 acres Okefenokee Swamp where we learned about alligators, turtles, snakes, the "Gnat line", and other wildlife on our afternoon adventure of this Natural Landmark. Everyone felt the highlights were the boat ride in the swamp and actually getting to pet the animals. We hope you will join us on our next adventure!

First Friends are winding down their week long tour of the Low Country with a special treat. We spent several hours at the Wood Pe**er Olive Farm! Liquid gold, olive trees, and the freshest olive oil right from the source! We learned so much about this award winning Olive Oil made right here in Georgia. We toured the fields of trees, saw how the olive oil is harvested and made, and learned so much about the benefits of olive oil. Thank you for welcoming us today!

Welcome to Savannah y'all- where Spanish moss sways, history whispers, and every corner feels like a step back in time. On Wednesday, First Friends took a trolley ride all around town learning so much history of this sweet southern town. We ended the day with an Interactive cooking demonstration at Chef Darin's Kitchen. Everyone had so much fun learning how to prepare an English Sunday Dinner. On Thursday we had a little free time to explore and then enjoyed a harbor site seeing tour on the Georgia Queen. Dinner was amazing at the historic River Street Inn. It's on the National Register of historic places built in 1817. We topped off the day with an ice cream social with Leopold's Ice cream- yum! A local favorite since 1919! First Friends are having a wonderful time in the Low Country. We hope you will consider traveling with us soon!

First Friends are off on another adventure. We left on Sunday for a tour of the Low Country. We made it to Beaufort, SC Sunday and Monday morning, and then it was off to Charleston, SC. Both places are absolutely lovely and full of southern charm. We have been busy with a carriage ride of the city, a dolphin cruise, and a guided tour of both cities, and lots of amazing food. We ended the first half of our tour with a Dinner Cruise around Charleston harbor. Tomorrow- We are headed to Savannah, GA for the rest of the week. We hope you will consider traveling with us soon!

Today- First Friends enjoyed the "Taste of History" sponsored by the Griffin+Spading Chamber of Commerce. For today's event, we rode on two different trolleys all over Griffin, enjoying a progressive breakfast, and learning about the history of this sweet southern town. The stops this year were the UGA gardens, St. George's Episcopal Church, Saki (formally a brothel) the Historic Griffin Hotel, the Historical Society (Bailey-Tebault House) , and Franklin & Rosemary (the Coke building). This event is not possible with out businesses who share stories of the past, the tour guides, the sponsors, and the many people who put the event together! Thank you everyone who made this event so special! We had a wonderful time!
