Your Financial Representative...
Meet Kurtis Iseminger.
Good-Natured. Relatable. Unconventional.
Kurtis has never seemed particularly interested in fitting the traditional mold of a financial professional.
Come to think of it, neither has Bobby Drake—better known as Iceman.
Like Bobby, Kurtis is good-natured, independent, and doesn't take himself too seriously. He's perfectly comfortable doing his own thing, but somehow manages to find common ground with just about anyone. Beneath the humor is someone who genuinely cares about people and has built his life around the things that matter most to him.
Before joining Modern Woodmen, Kurtis worked as an electrical technician. For the past nine years, he's been building a financial practice serving teachers, steel mill workers, law enforcement, and families throughout Northwest Indiana.
"What other job could I have where I get to choose the people I work with, help them make their lives better, spend company money on my community where it's most needed, and build my practice around my life and what fulfills me?"
Kurtis serves members from his office in Wanatah. Outside of work, he and his wife tend to their homestead, spoil their dog and cat, and travel whenever the opportunity presents itself. He also enjoys video games as a way to unwind and catch up with friends.
Ask Kurtis about his superpower and he'll tell you it's his ability to relate to—and genuinely enjoy—the company of just about anyone.
That probably explains why someone who is perfectly content doing his own thing has spent nearly a decade building a career around people.
"In a world of corporate profits and finance bros, these people chose to work for a fraternal organization that puts the needs of its members above anything else. They believe that putting good out into the world is just as important as any business model or financial plan. That's the kind of people I want to be around."
Kurtis has built something that feels distinctly his: meaningful work, a community he cares about, people he enjoys serving, and a life with enough room left in it to actually live.
That’s Iceman. That’s Kurtis Iseminger.
Freedom.
Rapport.
Contribution.
Congratulations, Kurtis, on the practice you've built, the community you continue to serve, and the life you've created around the things and people that matter most.
Be Curious.

Be Competitive.
