Long Post Alert:

I heard this on a podcast. The point: why are you betting on other people's success through the market instead of betting on yourself? Good advice...bet on yourself.

"I laugh at this because you go to a wealth management office and you see the cars that are parked in the parking lot and you walk into this building, which the overhead's probably 18-20 grand a month, right?...and you see all the furnishings and stuff. They're putting a lot of energy and money into making it appear that they're really good with money.

But at the same time, in order to be really good with money, all it takes is to make great investments. And rather than jumping through all of these hoops and putting up all these facades, just show me that you're making a positive return equal to or better than what I can do with my money. And they couldn't. So that's when I really realized that ' wait, this is not efficient. I'm giving somebody the money that I earned from my business to invest in other businesses that are less profitable than my business.

It doesn't make sense.' Meanwhile I'm also watching them drive a vehicle that is not a great asset to be investing in."
