Mortgage markets saw some improvement Thursday after moving higher during the first three days of the week. Bond yields remained relatively steady despite another increase in oil prices.
Fed Governor Chris Waller also indicated that a rate hike may not be necessary at the Fed’s next meeting unless upcoming inflation data is higher than expected. This helped the average top-tier 30-year fixed rate return to its lowest level of the week.
Looking ahead, Friday’s jobs report and next week’s inflation data could bring additional market movement.
