My youngest is a t shirt and shorts girlie. Picture day is her least favorite day of the year. Every school year she’s been photographed wearing her choice of a graphic tee and loose hair.
Today, she left the house, begrudgingly, in a dress, with her hair beautifully blown out, courtesy of sitting on a bathroom stool while I used a barrel brush taming her long lovely tresses. She bitterly grabbed a sweatshirt before she headed out the door. My guess is, this year I’ll get a school picture with her wearing a graphic printed sweatshirt 🤦🏻♀️
Oh the memories we’ll have of today, my little Ramona Quimby, iykyk.
Fun fact: My mother used to blow dry my hair straight every morning since I was in junior high throughout high school…and my sisters. She was a 6th grade math teacher so she had to be at school really early for advisory so we sat on a swirly stool in her bathroom at the crack of dawn for a fresh blow out…every single morning.
To be fair, our hair looked like we had just stepped out of a Vidal Sassoon salon, which I guess we did. My two girls had the exact opposite upbringing, they opted for a wash and wear lifestyle.
