👉 Roughly 56 percent of IPOs bought at the offer price lost money after 3 years.

That's not the headline you see on day one.

You see the first-day pop. The company goes public, and its stock has averaged a 19 percent gain since 1980. Feels like a moment you should catch.

Here's what actually happens:

1️⃣ Institutional investors get the offering price before trading opens.

2️⃣ You buy at market open, after the move.

Then the real story starts.

🔎 This gap is based on research led by Professor Jay R. Ritter, who authored a 2026 report on IPO performance for the University of Florida. His analysis of 9,300 U.S. IPOs is one of the most comprehensive databases available.

Chasing IPOs can provide a thrill, but there are pros and cons.

A sound portfolio should reflect an investor's goals, risk, and time horizon. The risks of an IPO are not for everyone. 🎯

📋 Past performance does not guarantee future results. The return and principal value of IPOs and other stocks will fluctuate as market conditions change. And shares, when sold, may be worth more or less than their original cost.

📦 Wholesale prices moved higher in August, with the Producer Price Index rising 0.4% for the month, right in line with expectations.

On an annual basis, headline PPI was up 5.4%, while core PPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.2% for the month.

Energy was one of the biggest drivers. ⚡ Final demand energy prices increased 4.2%, while goods prices overall rose 1.1%. Services prices increased just 0.1%.

The latest report adds another piece to the inflation picture as the Federal Reserve weighs its next interest-rate decision.

For consumers and businesses alike, wholesale price trends are worth watching because they may eventually show up in the cost of everyday goods and services.

The producer price index was expected to rise 0.4% in August, according to the Dow Jones consensus forecast.

Effort builds the foundation. Smart planning gives you the freedom to enjoy it.

Inspiration sparks new endeavors, consistent routine ensures long-term success.

Motivation is useful for taking the initial, often hardest, step toward a goal. But habits are sustainable—they remove the need for willpower, making daily action effortless. When you work with Sonder we’ll start by helping you build small, manageable changes in your financial orbit that will help compound your success.

Answer? Technically yes, but less than you think. Swipe to hear more from .chad ➡️

A savings account makes you money by paying you interest in exchange for letting the bank use your deposits for loans and other operations. But high-earners don’t leave cash sitting in savings, and here’s why:

* Current earning potential:
- Traditional Savings Accounts: The current national average is approximately 0.38% to 0.39% APY. For a $1,000 balance, this earns roughly $3.91 per year.
- High-Yield Savings Accounts (HYSA): These pay significantly more, but still not much—currently up to 4.00% to 5.00% APY. A $1,000 balance at 4% could earn about $40 per year.

* Inflation Risk: If inflation (currently around 2.9%–3.3%) is higher than your account’s interest rate, your money technically loses purchasing power, even though the dollar amount in the account is increasing.

* Taxes: Interest earned is generally considered taxable income and must be reported to the IRS.

* Variable Rates: Most savings account rates are variable, meaning they can change at any time based on market conditions or decisions by the Federal Reserve.

In economic news, the U.S. economy is feeling the squeeze of an aging workforce, and it’s already costing billions.

According to a new economic analysis older workers are retiring earlier than expected, and the diminished workforce has resulted in a net $4.18B drag on annual gross domestic product growth, even after accounting for retirement spending. Follow the link below to see what this “Silver Exit” could mean for growth and what may help offset it.
