Happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026!

I wanted to start this year with a "Letter from the Heart" to my clients and business partners.

2025 was a challenging year in the lending industry. We did well, but it certainly wasn’t all bright and shiny. There were many moving pieces: politics, inflation, job losses, high interest rates, and shaken consumer confidence. At the same time, families continued to grow and needed to move up, while others found great opportunities and relief through refinancing. In many ways, the challenges were balanced by the positives. It was challenging, but manageable.

Last year was also very full on the personal side. Our oldest daughter, Amaya, graduated high school and embarked on an abroad program. Amanda’s fun and gregarious family visited us from Brazil and stayed for over a month during the summer. We traveled with the kids to Cabo San Lucas and with my parents to Alaska. While our family and friends are in good health, we’ve also stepped into new roles, learning how to be better caretakers and stronger doctor advocates to help ensure their best care and overall well-being. We had multiple tenants move in and out of our rental properties, attended countless soccer practices and basketball games, and through it all, Team Neilsen proudly served over 40 families in 2025.

The goal for 2026 is clear: connection.
