June is the most useful month of the year to look at your numbers.

Not because anything is wrong. Because you finally have enough of the year behind you to see the real pattern.

Five months in, the noise settles. You can see which months actually made money, which clients were worth it, and where profit leaked out without anyone noticing.

Most owners wait until tax season to find that out. By then the year is over and all that's left to do is react.

A mid-year look is different. You still have six months to adjust pricing, drop the work that doesn't pay, and protect the margin that does.

Revenue tells you the business is moving. Profit tells you whether the movement is worth it. Two different numbers, and June is the month to check both.

If you want to know what the first half of your year is actually telling you, that's the conversation I have on Profit Clarity Calls. Thirty minutes, your real numbers, no pitch. waynebelisle.com/clarity

Yesterday's Live was about a question most owners avoid.

If you removed your logo from your website, could anyone tell what makes you different from the next ten competitors?

For most owners, the honest answer is no. That's a positioning problem, not a marketing problem. And no amount of ad spend fixes it.

The owners who get found consistently are the ones who picked a position and stuck with it.

Most owners are trying to be found by everyone. So nobody finds them.

After 30 years sitting across from business owners, I can tell you the ones who attract great-fit clients consistently aren't louder. They aren't spending more on marketing.
They've just picked a clear position and stuck with it.

You'll learn:
→ Why trying to appeal to everyone makes you invisible
→ The three things your positioning has to make clear immediately
→ How to get specific without shrinking the business you've already built

Most business owners I talk to are trying to be found by everyone.

It almost never works.

The owners who get found by the right clients consistently have done one thing the rest haven't. They picked a position. They got specific about who they help, what they solve, and what makes them different. They stopped trying to be the safe choice for everybody.

You don't get less business by being specific. You get more of the right business.

Today's Live I'm walking through how to do that without feeling like you're shrinking your market.

→ Why "we help everyone" is the most expensive sentence on a website
→ The three things your positioning has to make clear in ten seconds
→ How to get specific without losing the clients you already serve well

Yesterday's Live was about something I wish I'd figured out earlier.

You don't need more sales conversations. You need better ones.

The owners I've watched close consistently over 30 years aren't the most persuasive.

They're the ones who qualify hardest, earliest. They figure out in the first ten minutes whether this is a real buyer, and they spend their best hours accordingly.

Yesterday's Live was about a question most owners avoid.

Which of your customers are actually costing you money?

After 30 years, I can tell you almost every business has at least one. Sometimes it's their biggest account. The one who haggles, drags out projects, pays late, and makes the team dread their name on the calendar.

You don't need more customers. You need the right ones. And the first step is learning to spot the wrong ones before they're already inside.

Some customers grow your business.

Some quietly bleed it out.

After 30 years sitting across from business owners, I can tell you the difference is rarely about money. It's about behavior. And almost every problem customer shows you who they are before you sign the contract, if you know what to look for.

You'll learn:

→ The five red flags that show up before the work even starts
→ The screening questions that surface a problem fit fast
→ How to walk away from a bad-fit customer without burning the bridge
