June is the most useful month of the year to look at your numbers.
Not because anything is wrong. Because you finally have enough of the year behind you to see the real pattern.
Five months in, the noise settles. You can see which months actually made money, which clients were worth it, and where profit leaked out without anyone noticing.
Most owners wait until tax season to find that out. By then the year is over and all that's left to do is react.
A mid-year look is different. You still have six months to adjust pricing, drop the work that doesn't pay, and protect the margin that does.
Revenue tells you the business is moving. Profit tells you whether the movement is worth it. Two different numbers, and June is the month to check both.
If you want to know what the first half of your year is actually telling you, that's the conversation I have on Profit Clarity Calls. Thirty minutes, your real numbers, no pitch. waynebelisle.com/clarity
