One of my best friends in high school became a father at 18 years old. While our lives took different paths after graduation, we reconnected through Facebook about 10 years ago.
This summer, I learned that his son had passed away unexpectedly at just 34 years old. He left behind a wife and two teenage children.
I attended the funeral, and like any parent, I couldn't stop thinking about how unimaginable that loss must be. As parents, we worry about all kinds of things, but losing a child is a fear none of us ever want to face.

As an insurance agent, my mind naturally went to some of the practical realities that follow a tragedy like this. A family that depended on two incomes is suddenly down to one. Bills don't stop. Grief counseling isn't free. The emotional burden is overwhelming enough without financial uncertainty being added to it.
I don't know all the details of his family's financial situation, and honestly, that's not what matters most.
What matters is this: none of us know what tomorrow will bring.

Life insurance isn't really about policies or paperwork. It's about love, responsibility, and making sure the people we care about have one less thing to worry about when life takes an unexpected turn.

It's never too soon to protect the people you love.
But sometimes, it becomes too late.
