With back-to-school season top of mind and August being National Traffic Awareness Month, our team wanted to take a moment to share some practical road safety reminders for this time of year.

The return to school brings one of the most significant changes in daily traffic patterns of the entire year. A few moments of extra caution can make an enormous difference. Swipe for a few traffic safety considerations for both motorists and parents of young children to keep in mind as back-to-school season approaches.

By staying alert, following the rules, and looking out for the most vulnerable people on our roads, we can all play a role in keeping the roads safe this school year.

Please feel free to share this with anyone in your network who might benefit from these reminders. And if you ever have questions or need assistance, we are always here to help leverage our expertise for your benefit.

Extreme summer heat is more than uncomfortable. It can pose serious health risks for people of all ages and health conditions.

A few simple habits can make a big difference on very hot days:

🔸 Stay indoors during the hottest hours of the day when possible.
🔸 Drink water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🔸 Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing when outside.
🔸 Use fans or air conditioning, or visit a cooling center or public place with air conditioning if your home is too warm.
🔸 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, such as dizziness, headache, confusion, or nausea, and reach out to medical professionals if necessary.

These steps can help prevent heat-related illness and keep you and the people you care about safer all summer long. If you have questions about how heat might affect your health or medications, talk with your doctor or health care team.

As always, know that we are here for you if you would like to review your coverage. Give us a call today, and we can find time to connect.

August often brings a natural pause. It marks the stretch just past the halfway point of the year, where we reflect on what’s working and what’s growing. For many business owners, that reflection leads back to one key area: the people who make everything possible.

The most successful businesses are rarely built on systems or strategies alone. They are built on people who feel supported and valued, and are continuously developing. When you invest in your team, your clients, and the relationships that matter most, the results tend to take care of themselves.

As we move through this month and look ahead to what is next, we want to hear from you: What is one way you are investing in your people or your relationships this August? Share it in the comments. We would love to cheer you on!

If you have a kid heading to college this year, we’ve got a question: How well did you (or others) treat your belongings in college?

Now that you’re in the right headspace 😬, we’ve got another question: Have you considered dorm renters insurance to protect your college-bound child’s laptops, bicycles, smartphones,, etc.? It could save you a lot of money (and stress) in the long run!

Reach out to our team with any questions or if you’d like us to put a quote together for you. We’ve also got tissues handy should you need a few for dorm move-in.

In conversations about self-care and family health, we often emphasize the usual: nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being. But let's not forget an equally critical, but often-overlooked aspect: routine eye exams.

Regular eye checkups go beyond just adjusting our vision with the correct lenses. They serve as a crucial gateway to detecting more significant health issues:

☑️ Hypertension: Changes in the eye's blood vessels can reveal high blood pressure.
☑️ High Cholesterol: A yellowish patch on the upper and/or inner parts of your eyelid might indicate high cholesterol levels.
☑️ Autoimmune Disorders: Inflammation in the eye can signal autoimmune diseases, including lupus.
☑️ Thyroid Disease: An unusual bulge in the eyeballs could be a telltale sign of thyroid issues.
☑️ Cancer: Abnormalities in eye structure can point toward ocular melanoma, and a close look at the eyelids can reveal basal cell carcinoma.

If it's been some time since your last eye exam, let's change that. Finding an optometrist nearby and scheduling an appointment is simpler than you might think.

As always, reach out with any coverage questions or needs. We’re here to help you prioritize your health!
