✅ Important Fannie Mae Update – Minimum Credit Score Requirement Removed
📢 Effective: November 16, 2025

Fannie Mae has officially announced a major policy change in its November 2025 Selling Guide. The update includes the removal of the minimum 620 credit score requirement for loans submitted through Desktop Underwriter (DU).

🔹 What this means:
• DU will now rely fully on a risk-based assessment model instead of minimum score thresholds.
• Borrowers with lower or limited credit history may now qualify more easily.
• Increased opportunities for first-time homebuyers and underserved communities.

🔹 Additional enhancements:
• Expanded Day 1 Certainty coverage for undisclosed non-mortgage liabilities.
• Broader eligibility for credit document age exceptions for single-closing construction loans.

As this change takes effect, lenders and brokers must continue focusing on overall risk factors such as DTI, payment history, income stability, and reserves.
