A Call to Our Community for Support

​Our deepest condolences and heavy hearts go out to the Pena family following the tragic loss of their mother, Nora, in a horrific accident.

​Nora’s son, Stevens, is a close friend of our own boys. Right now, at just 19 years old, he is navigating an unimaginable loss while bravely stepping up to care for his younger brother, Jhoriell. Stevens is also working hard to fix up their family home so they can sell it and find some stability.

​At PPG, we truly believe that our community is an extension of our own family. While our hearts ache that we couldn't ease their burden sooner, we are committed to standing in the gap for them now, just as we would for our very own. When one of us is hurting, we all step up.

​We are sharing this with our amazing network of clients, partners, and connections to ask for your help in supporting this family during their darkest hour.

Memorial Day — Faith, Freedom, and Phamily

This day means more to our Phamily than words can fully explain.

It reminds us that freedom is not just something we enjoy.
It is something others paid for.

For our family, that truth carries deep meaning.

The American flag represents the country that gave our family freedom.
The South Vietnamese flag represents where our story began.
And the salute represents the respect we carry for every man and woman who gave their life so families like ours could stand together today.

That is also why our Phamily Phinancial Group logo is so personal to us.

The plane represents the sacrifice and courage that helped carry families toward safety.

The cross represents the faith our family held onto, especially my dad’s belief that through every hardship, God still had a will and a purpose.

The shield represents protection — of faith, family, legacy, and the people we love most.

So today, we pause.

We remember those who never came home.
We honor the families who still carry that loss.
And we are grateful for the freedom their sacrifice made possible.

As many of you know, PPG is truly a “Phamily” business. Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared more about what that means and the story behind the name.

Today, I want to share something a little more personal.

I couldn’t be more proud of my daughter, Larkin, and the journey she’s been on. The same values we talk about every day—commitment, resilience, faith, and putting others before yourself—are the same ones she’s lived out through years of volleyball and life experiences.

This short video isn’t just about sports. It’s about growth, sacrifice, and becoming who you’re meant to be.

What a surprise and a blessing to see a school as large as USF share our Phamily’s story with their community.

It speaks not only to the story itself, but to the impact Calvin has made — that they know him well enough to want to learn more and pass it on.

Moments like this are a reminder of what it’s all about… where you come from, what you build, and what you leave behind.

That’s the same foundation we carry into PPG every day — not just planning for today, but building something that lasts for generations.

Didn’t expect this… but definitely grateful.

Really proud of this kid.

When I look at his journey, I don’t just see what he’s doing at USF… I see where it comes from. The values, the sacrifices, the foundation our family built — it’s showing up in how he carries himself and what he’s choosing to do with his opportunities.

What stands out most isn’t just being part of the President’s Global Leadership Council Scholars… it’s that he’s using his experience to give back. Creating a scholarship to support Vietnamese American students says a lot about who he is and what he represents.

That’s bigger than school. That’s legacy.

This is what it’s all about for us at PPG — building something that lasts beyond ourselves.

Have you ever noticed the airplane inside our company logo? There is a deeply personal story behind it, and this week, that story comes full circle.

​On April 1st, the USF Business School is hosting a very special event honoring my father, Former VNAF 1st Lt. Khiem Pham.

​Fifty-one years ago, during the final days of the Vietnam War, my dad commandeered a C-130 aircraft. He flew over 50 people to safety, escaping the fall of Vietnam.

​He didn't just save lives. He secured our family's future. Now, his story of courage is being integrated into my son Calvin’s Global Studies program at USF.
