Fed's Harker: Based on current projections, one rate cut in 2024 is appropriate

Fed's Harker said he thinks one rate cut this year would be appropriate based on his current projections, underscoring the signal that rates are likely to stay high. "If everything goes as expected, I think one rate cut by the end of the year would be appropriate," Harker said, "In fact, I think there's a good chance that there will be two or zero rate cuts this year, depending on which direction the data go.
