A wonderful night at the museum of flight in Seattle to support After-School All-Stars.

This incredible non-profit provides safe and structured after-school programs for middle-school students in our community. Whether learning how to build confidence as a growing person or find their passion in sports, , dance, and so much more, this organization makes that possible!

🎣 I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been fishing.

Imagine...
You're new to fishing.
You grab a rod, some bait, and get ready to cast.
Your bait is in the water, but nothing is catching.

You don't know why?!

The questions you should ask yourself...
Do I have the right bait?
Am I fishing the right place?
Is there something missing?

Those are just the start of your questions and they're easy to solve.

This past weekend, I went fishing for the first time in a long time and I had a wonderful guide!

Drew knew where to fish.
Drew knew what bait to use this time of year.
Drew knew the fishing spots for the best catch.

He made the experience way more efficient and enjoyable!

If we get help from people who have great experience in what we are trying to learn, we will be guided to the best possible outcome.

The same thing goes in any aspect of our lives.

🏅 A dream written down with a date becomes a goal.

A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan.

A plan backed by action becomes reality.

I love helping engineers create a better reality!

I need to thank you; the nearly 150 engineering households that my team works for!

Without your trust and support of what we do, we wouldn’t be here today accepting the 2024 New Associate of the Year award and many more, in the Colorado office.

I am so incredibly fortunate to love what I do each day and for the incredible support I’ve had along this journey.

I cannot wait to share what is coming soon!

🚒 I have always believed that helping others is the most important thing we can do with our time.

Whether as a career, volunteering, or one-off moments in our day, we have no idea the impact that our actions can have on someone who may be having the worst day of their lives!

One of the ways I decided to help is through volunteering.

For the past few years, I've spent a few days each month with my community's fire department.

I was trained through orientation classes, state certified fire and hazmat academies, and many months on the job.

I had no prior experience, similar to many others.

Based on the data directly from FEMA.gov, 69.8% of all firefighters in the United States are volunteer!

Our local communities need our help!

If you're interested in getting involved, in any capacity, research what departments near you are looking for help.

You never know when you might help someone through their worst!

🏀 Constant optimizations are key to everything in life!

The more we pay attention to what works, and more importantly what doesn't work the better we can perform at whatever the goal.

Take professional basketball with the NBA as an incredible example.

In 2000, here is the distribution of every shot attempted, and see just how random some of the locations are!

Then in 2023, notice how all of the 'non-optimized' shots have essentially been removed from play.

Unfortunately, it makes the game less entertaining as it's pretty predictable where the players are going to attempt their shot, however, the games are seeing higher point values as more of those shots are optimized and thus getting points!

The same goes to your personal finances.

It shouldn't be 'fun', in the traditional sense.

It should be 'optimized' for your best outcome at the end as well as along the way!

That's why we always start the process with an introduction and eduction. We teach you how we optimize planning so you understand how and why we make our decisions!

It may be less 'fun', but the outcome will be far better for everyone involved.

The only people to behave sensibly are those who are constantly checking their work.

When you go to the tailor to get a new suit, they take new measurements. They don't rely on the measurements from your previous visit and expect, with any certainty, that you will fit the same.

The same goes for the planning industry.

Each time we sit down with a client, we're updating our financial measurements.

We may have met a few months ago to review or we may have met years ago, but we know that change is the only constant so we must recheck measurements to be certain we're still doing the best that we can for you!

What are some of these important items to double check the measurements?

RSUs?
ISOs?
NSOs?
401s?
Coverages?
Contributions?..and so much more!
