We continue to see major demographic shifts affecting the financial services sector in the United States. Pressure on government and entitlement programs continues to mount, placing the vast majority of Americans at reduced retirement incomes. Compound this with the effects of the 2020 global pandemic and it shifts a greater burden to the financial community to find more income with less assets than ever before.

For these reasons, our industry needs to change the way we behave, act and think about retirement income planning for Americans of all ages. Planners making a successful shift will grow their business faster, attract more clients, and remain relevant in the greatest shift from the workforce to retirement that we have ever seen in the United States.

What you’ll learn from this presentation:
Why the United States is trending toward an income focus versus an asset focus
How to shift the risk of Social Security reductions and why clients are making a critical mistake
How you might be risking your practice by not talking about income with your clients
A revolutionary way to drive value for your clients and your practice
Ways to provide a better outcome to your retirement clients while growing your assets

What is the new normal? In 2017, Congress gave us an aggressive and business-friendly fiscal package in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. In 2019 the SECURE Act was designed to make saving for retirement easier. Fast forward to the present day and political sentiments in D.C. have clearly shifted. There is now a concerted and ongoing effort to raise taxes on businesses, increase estate taxes, and institute innovative, if not radical, new measures to tax the wealthy. How successful have these efforts been? Will they work? What will taxes look like in 2022?

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of SFSP invites you to our October meeting:

"Underlying Benefits of Reverse Mortgages"

Presented by:
George Bain and Harlan Accola
Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation

Tuesday, October 19, 2021
11:30am - 1:00pm
ViewHouse, 7101 South Clinton Street
Centennial, CO 80112

Financial advisors have long looked at reverse mortgages as the "Loan of Last Resort"-- the ugly stepsister of the retirement planning story. This workshop will create a major paradigm shift in your thinking. The instructors will explain how recent program changes and groundbreaking research by the financial planning industry and noted academics have overwhelmingly proven the necessity of using reverse mortgages at the age of 62, not 82. With 10,000 Baby Boomers turning 62 daily and over $6 trillion in home equity amongst your senior clients, reverse mortgages just may be the late coming Cinderella to the retirement ball that fixes the retirement crisis we are facing.

This presentation will cover how a reverse mortgage can reduce tax obligations, decrease sequence of returns risk, increase portfolio survivability, and effects to your retirement income efficiency.
