The Fed’s latest rate decision signals a shift in the interest rate environment, and it may have implications for everything from borrowing and cash management to investment and retirement planning.

A change in rates doesn’t mean you need to immediately change course. It means it’s worth understanding how the new environment fits into your bigger financial picture.

That’s where thoughtful planning comes in. We help clients look beyond the headline, understand what changes like this could mean for their goals, and make informed decisions with the long term in mind.

Your financial plan shouldn’t be built around predicting what happens next. It should be built to navigate change when it comes.

Building wealth isn’t just about earning more or finding the right investment.

It’s about what happens with the money once you earn it.

How much of each raise do you keep? How quickly does your lifestyle expand? Are you making tax decisions proactively or reacting at the end of the year? Are your financial choices actually creating more flexibility in your life?

Over time, those decisions can matter just as much as what happens inside your portfolio.

The goal isn’t simply to accumulate more. It’s to build a financial life that gives you more choices with what comes next.

If you’re curious about how the right guidance could help you navigate these decisions, schedule an introductory call through the link in my bio.

Saving more is usually treated as an automatic financial win. But there’s a point where the better question becomes: Are you saving the right amount in the right places?

Cash plays an important role in a financial plan. It can provide security, flexibility, and access when you need it. However, keeping more in cash than your goals require can also mean missing opportunities elsewhere.

That’s why a savings target shouldn’t be arbitrary. It should account for your monthly needs, upcoming expenses, tolerance for uncertainty, longer-term goals, and what the rest of your money is doing.

This National Savings Day, don’t just ask, “Am I saving enough?” Ask, “Is my savings strategy actually supporting the life I’m building?”

If you’re not sure, schedule an introductory call with me. We’ll talk through where you are today, what you’re working toward, and whether a more intentional financial plan could help you get there.

Schedule via the link in my bio.

Often, the issue isn’t a lack of ambition. It’s that a goal without a strategy leaves too many decisions to be made in the moment.

Setting a financial goal is the easy part. Building a plan you can actually follow is where the real work begins.

A financial plan gives those goals structure. It can help you understand what you need to save, how your investments fit into the bigger picture, which tradeoffs are worth making, and whether the decisions you’re making today are keeping you on track for the future you want.

This World Financial Planning Day, consider not just what your financial goals are, but whether you have a strategy designed to help you follow through.

If this sounds like something you’re looking for, visit the link in my bio to schedule a complimentary introductory call.

October is Financial Planning Month, but the real question isn’t whether you have a financial plan. It’s whether your plan still reflects your life today.

A plan built a few years ago may have been based on a different income, different expenses, different tax considerations, different goals, or even a different idea of what you wanted your future to look like.

A decision to retire earlier can change how much you need to save today. A major purchase can affect cash flow and investment decisions. A change in income can create new tax considerations. A shift in family priorities can change what you want your wealth to accomplish in the first place.

That’s why financial planning should be an ongoing process of understanding where you are, defining where you want to go, evaluating your current path, and adjusting when circumstances change.

Financial Planning Month is a good opportunity to ask yourself: Does my current financial strategy still support the life I’m actually working toward?

If you haven’t revisited that question in a while, it may be time for a conversation. Book an introductory call via the link in our bio.

In my opinion, the future of work isn’t necessarily humans vs. AI. It’s humans learning how to work as a better team with it.

As AI takes on more of the technical and repetitive parts of our work, the opportunity is to become more efficient while focusing our time on the things that still require human judgment, perspective, and connection.

The bigger risk may be resisting the shift altogether.

Those who refuse to adapt run the risk of antiquating themselves and, ultimately, the service they provide. Not because AI can suddenly do everything they can, but because others will learn how to use it to work faster, smarter, and more effectively.

The goal isn’t to compete with AI. It’s to understand how to work alongside it.

The Federal Reserve recently raised rates by a quarter point, marking the first increase since 2023. For many families, a higher-rate environment can make borrowing more expensive, from credit cards to HELOCs and other forms of financing.

However, traditional borrowing isn’t always the only option.

One strategy many investors may not be familiar with is a box spread loan. For the right situation, it can offer another way to think about accessing liquidity and managing borrowing costs.

In this video, I break down how box spread loans work, who they may be relevant for, and why they’re worth understanding in today’s rate environment.

Lifestyle creep rarely feels like overspending.

That’s what makes it so easy to miss.

A nicer car fits comfortably into the budget. You upgrade the house. Add a few subscriptions. Travel a little differently. Choose convenience more often.

Individually, none of those decisions may be a problem. But over time, something subtle happens: what used to feel like a luxury starts to feel like a necessity.

With every new “normal,” a little more of your financial flexibility disappears.

The goal isn’t to avoid enjoying the money you’ve worked hard to earn. It’s to be intentional about which upgrades genuinely improve your life and which ones simply raise the cost of maintaining it.

Building wealth isn’t only about earning more. It’s also about protecting the space between what you earn and what your lifestyle requires.

The way we work is changing, and so is the way we should think about the future.

As AI continues to make significant strides, more of the tasks and responsibilities we handle today may eventually be delegated to machines. The bigger question isn’t simply what AI can do. It’s understanding where technology adds value, where human judgment still matters, and how those roles will continue to evolve.

The future has always required adaptability. The difference now is the pace of change.

Understanding these nuances can help us make more thoughtful decisions about our work, our businesses, and how we prepare for what comes next.

A market decline can feel significant in the moment. But where the market falls during the year and where it finishes are two very different things.

From 1980 through 2025, the average intra-year decline was 14.2%. Yet annual returns were positive in 35 of those 46 years.

That’s an important reminder: volatility is a normal part of investing.

When markets fall, it can be tempting to react—to sell, change course, or wait until things feel more certain. But a short-term decline doesn’t necessarily tell us what the rest of the year will bring.

A long-term financial plan gives you something to come back to when the headlines get loud. Instead of making decisions based on what the market is doing today, you can stay focused on what you're working toward over time.

The goal isn't to avoid every drop. It's to have a plan built to navigate them.
