The housing market is interesting, because the hesitation is heavy right now.
The pressure of affordability and uncertainty have people at a standstill, from buying and selling.
It's creating a gap in the age of first-time homebuyers compared to previous years that comes with a cost.
The national average age of a homeowner jumped from 33 in 2021 to 40 in 2025, according to NAR (link below)
Something people might not be aware of -
"Delayed or denied homeownership until age 40 instead of 30 can mean losing roughly $150,000 in equity on a typical starter home."
The opportunity for long term wealth building through real estate is still there, but the home buying map looks different.
