Home price growth has been decelerating in 2025, but it remains positive at the national level and in most of the big cities. While a few cities are seeing modest declines in their price indexes, it's important to keep perspective: the long-term returns from owning a home have been spectacular, especially if you consider the positive impact of leverage (a 20% down payment = 5x the return).
