What happens when women business owners get candid about the numbers behind building a company?
A sold-out room and a waiting list told us this was a conversation women wanted to have.
At our latest Girls Just Want to Have Funds, women at different stages of business ownership heard four accomplished leaders get remarkably transparent about what growth actually looked like for them.
They shared revenue numbers. Financing decisions. Experiences walking into banks and asking for capital. Acquisitions, ownership, relationships that opened doors, and times when the path forward wasn’t obvious.
It’s also a reminder of what good banking relationships can look like. Sometimes the most valuable thing we can do is listen, understand where a business owner is trying to go, make a connection, or help point her in the right direction, whether or not there’s a banking solution today.
Thank you to Heather Callender-Potters, Jice Johnson, Whitney Luckett, and Muliha Khan for being so generous with their experiences, and to JLL (Janessa Biller), WPO (Brenda Abdilla), and WBEC-West (Heather Heacox) for helping us create the space for this conversation.
Through InBank’s Women in Business Initiative, we’ll continue creating opportunities for women business owners to learn from one another, build meaningful relationships, and have conversations like these as their businesses grow.
If you were there, what stayed with you?
