This month, our Westfield branch team selected Eastside Mission Food Pantry as our FidFed Cares recipient.

Eastside Mission Food Pantry is dedicated to helping neighbors put food on the table. It is open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month to serve anyone in our community who needs a hand. Their team believes everyone deserves support when times are tough and that together we can work toward a better tomorrow.

No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. Our contribution to Eastside Mission Food Pantry helps to ensure families and individuals in Delaware County have one less thing to worry about.

Jesse Wildman from the city of Delaware Fire Department took some time to review some fires safety information. He is a Firefighter and a Community Paramedic.

He also brought fire simulator which allowed us to practice using a fake fire extinguisher.

Notes:
• Only put out small fires.
• Direct someone to call the fire department.
• Get out of the building if you hear the alarm and don’t try to find the fire.
• Don’t throw water on a grease fire.
• Recycle used fire extinguishers.
• Follow the P.A.S.S rule
o Pull Pin
o Aim at the BASE of the fire.
o Squeeze the handle
o Sweep side to side. ((Empty the entire extinguisher)

Meet Shelly Newsome, one of our Mortgage Loan Officers here at Fid Fed. 🏡

If you've ever sat across from Shelly working through the details of a home loan, you know she brings a level of care that's hard to find. Maybe it's because she knows what it's like to take a big leap herself. Before Fidelity, Shelly spent 12 years working in a factory. One day, she decided it was time for a change, and Fidelity gave her the opportunity to start something new. She's grateful for it every day, and it shows.

"Helping families purchase their new homes is more rewarding than you can even imagine," Shelly says.

When she's not helping folks find their way home, she's usually on the sidelines cheering on one of her four boys at a game, match or tournament — or out at the family's (self-described "crazy") goat farm. Camping trips with the family are her favorite way to unwind, and Christmas is the biggest holiday of the year in the Newsome house, full of memories she hopes to keep building on with her own kids.
