A thirty year mortgage sounds like a long time. So did high school. Four years felt like forever at the time. Now it is just a thing that happened and then was over. Thirty years sounds heavy until you realize you are not white knuckling it for three decades. You are building something. Something that is yours. My client had been told no twice before she called me. We closed in 34 days. She almost didn't call. She'd convinced herself the answer was just no, that two lenders had seen something in her file that made her unqualifiable and that was simply where her story ended. It wasn't. What those two lenders had seen was a file that didn't fit their products. That's not the same thing as a file that doesn't work. It just means you haven't found the right lender yet.
