It’s been a busy day for Davenport Fire Department, Public Works, and Police crews, who responded to many calls about downed trees blocking roadways. This morning’s storm also left several thousand residents without power.
Crews will continue clearing trees and reopening streets through early evening, and MidAmerican Energy is working to restore power as quickly as possible.
A quick safety reminder: please treat all dark or flashing traffic signals as a four-way stop.
If you’re cleaning up branches and tree debris from your yard, bundle branches in lengths no longer than 5 feet and place them at your normal collection point. They’ll be picked up on your next regular garbage day.
Thank you for your patience as crews make progress. Stay alert—more severe weather is possible through the end of the week.
