Strong winds can cause serious damage in just minutes—lifting shingles, damaging siding, breaking windows, and sending trees or debris into your home.

Before the storm: Secure outdoor furniture, trim weak or damaged tree limbs, inspect your roof and siding, and make sure you understand your homeowners insurance—especially your wind/hail deductible.

After the storm: Put safety first. Take photos and videos of the damage before making temporary repairs, save receipts for emergency work, and contact your insurance agent as soon as possible. Avoid permanent repairs until the damage has been properly documented.
