⚠️ Hurricane season started June 1st. Is your home coverage ready?

Most Texas homeowners assume their homeowner's insurance covers hurricane damage. And a lot of it does but here's the part that catches people off guard:

Standard homeowner's insurance does NOT cover flooding. 💧

Wind damage? Covered. Rain through a damaged roof? Covered. But floodwater rising from the ground storm surge, overflowing bayous, street flooding from heavy rain? That's a completely separate flood insurance policy.

And once a named storm is heading toward Texas, carriers often stop writing new flood policies altogether.

Before the season heats up, it's worth asking yourself:
