🚨 Traffic Advisory – Del Norte County 🚨

Motorists are advised of a major injury solo-vehicle semi tanker rollover crash, involving hazardous materials on US-199 near Mile Post Marker 27 in Del Norte County.

Emergency crews are on scene managing the incident and working to ensure public safety. Expect traffic delays in the area and allow extra travel time.

⚠️ Please slow down, remain alert, and use caution when traveling through the area.

🚔 Move over for emergency personnel and follow all directions from first responders.

🚩 TAKE ACTION BEFORE A RED FLAG WARNING 🚩

Critical fire weather conditions are expected from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 5 p.m. Thursday across portions of the Sacramento Valley. Strong winds, low humidity, and dry fuels can cause fires to spread rapidly.

Before the wind arrives, do an Ember Check:
✔️ Close windows, garage doors, and pet doors
✔️ Clear leaves and debris from roofs and gutters
✔️ Move flammable items off your patio and at least 5' away from your home

Close It. Clear It. Move It.

Now is the time to prepare, stay alert, and have an evacuation plan ready.

Next Monday, June 15th, 2026, the CAL FIRE Humboldt – Del Norte Unit will suspend burning in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Western Trinity County. Eastern Trinity County, protected by the CAL FIRE Shasta – Trinity Unit, will also go into burn suspension on June 15th. This was done as a coordinated effort between the two units to reduce confusion while balancing public safety. The burn suspension affects all lands that are considered State Responsibility Area (SRA). A map showing areas of SRA can be found here: CAL FIRE Burn Permit Responsibility Area Viewer. The map is also accessible from the CAL FIRE Burn Permit website, burnpermit.fire.ca.gov, at Step 2, Verify. The burn suspension status will also be relayed through the North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District’s (NCUAQMD) burn day status phone line. Each year, CAL FIRE suspends burning as the hazard of wildfire increases. This is done to protect lives, property, and natural resources. Anyone found to be burning in violation of the burn suspension could be held criminally and/or civilly liable. CAL FIRE urges all landowners to respect the burn suspension and help provide for everyone’s safety.
