"Deposit costs are squeezing margins at US banks and there is no near-term relief in sight, even as certificate of deposit (CD) repricing waves lock in higher funding costs well into 2027. 📰News from our member Bank of America: The bank announced a $50,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties in support of its “Big Futures through Mentoring & Workforce Development” initiative.

The investment will help expand the organization’s established model of professionally supported one-to-one mentoring that connects young people ages 14-24 in underrepresented and low-income communities to career exploration, college readiness, and long-term economic mobility.

📰News from our member Kearny Bank: Daniel Benker has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President/Director of Facilities and Administrative Services. He previously served as the bank’s First Vice President/Facilities and Administrative Services.

Benker, who joined Kearny Bank in 2004, heads the Facilities and Administrative Services division, overseeing facilities operations at more than 40 locations, procurement, administrative services, mailroom operations, property management, fleet management, life safety, branch maintenance, capital improvement projects, and regulatory compliance.

Hewitt resident Daniel Benker has been promoted by Kearny Bank to the position of Senior Vice President / Director of Facilities and Administrative Services.
