If they take pride in their perfectly crafted grilled or smoked meat dish, encourage them to sign up for a chance to compete in Iowa Farm Bureau’s Cookout Contest. 🥩🍖

This statewide competition will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at the Iowa State Fair on the Grand Concourse.
The winner of the youth competition (ages 13-17) will receive $300 and a gas grill, valued at $1,000, courtesy of the Iowa Propane Gas Association.

Apply now to become an Iowa 4-H Agricultural Ambassador! Represent Iowa 4-H, grow your leadership skills, and connect with youth across the state. 🐮🐔🐑

🔸 Applicants must be at least 16 and not older than 20 as of January 1st of the current year at the time of their application.
🔹 Term will be from August through September of the following year.
🔸 Monthly in-person retreats, virtual leadership and skill building opportunities, service experiences and career exploration tours.

𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦!🌱🍎

Harrison County Farm Bureau board members presented Alayna Hansen, Program Coordinator, and Haley Fischer, Outreach Coordinator, of Loess Hills AITC with a $5,000 donation to support agriculture in the classroom programs across western Iowa.

Loess Hills Agriculture in the Classroom (LHAITC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit made possible through the generosity of County Farm Bureau Boards, local foundations, businesses, and families who believe in the importance of agricultural literacy. Their support helps students across Carroll, Crawford, Harrison, Sac, Shelby, and West Pottawattamie counties learn where their food, fiber, and fuel come from through creative lessons, hands-on activities, and technology-based programs.

Each month, Miss Alayna and Miss Haley of LHAITC visit 21 schools and reach more than 1,800 students, helping connect classroom learning to real-life agriculture. 🌽🐖🌱🥛

Harrison County Farm Bureau is a proud supporter of LHAITC, helping to plant seeds of knowledge that will grow for years to come! 🌱
