A little rain…ok maybe a lot of rain ☔️ doesn’t stop your Hometown Bank Varsity Club! Today we braved the weather and pedaled our way across the beautiful farmland of Versailles. After our rail bike adventure, we enjoyed a lovely meal at the Glitz, a destination we want to go back and visit again. It’s a must see. Another great trip on the books with your HTB Varsity Club!

Last post of Italy… We cruised along the Amalfi Coastline on the Mediterranean Sea to a lovely little city on the side of a cliff, Positano. Then on our way to Rome we went back in time and explored Pompeii. Absolutely amazing! Southern Italy was a great trip filled with wonderful memories and tons of laughter & 3 Birthdays to celebrate!

Matera, Italy 🇮🇹… where we visited Sassi de Matera an ancient settlement of carved cave dwellings. Italians are still living in these little carved caves on the hill! We then traveled to Alberabello to marvel at the unique trulli homes with cone shaped roofs made a stones. There were hundreds of them and these too were occupied as homes and B&Bs. Another great day in Italy!

Last day in Sicily… and what a grand adventure we had in Giardini Naxos! We climbed almost 1000 feet above sea level to a little town on top of the mountain called Taormino where we enjoyed the well preserved Greek Theatre and enjoyed some shopping and eating in the quaint little town. We then climbed higher almost to 10,000 feet above sea level to Europes highest volcano Mt. Etna! Of course what better way to dive into one’s culture but with food, music and dancing. Now on to Italy’s main land…

Another day in Sicily with your HTB Travel club…. These adventures included the quaint old charming town of Agrigento where we enjoyed a lovely lunch before making our way to the Valley of the Temples for an up close view of the Greek temples of Juno, Concordia, and Hercules. We couldn’t leave the area without experiencing the Roman influence in Piazza Amerina at the Villa Romana where several ancient mosaics were on display. Beautiful artistry and fun time had by all!

l'italia è bellissima!!!! Your HTB Travel Club is on the go again and this time we are in Southern Italy in Sicily! We have explored the streets going to places like the Teatro Opera House, Palmero Cathedral where a few were brave enough to climb the stairs to the top, the Norman Palace and so many more. We’ve indulged ourselves in so much good food and even celebrated a special birthday while in Palermo.

No better way to celebrate 250 years of freedom than to go to the heart of where much of our history was played out. This 7 day tour takes us back in history to George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, James Monroe’s Highlands, Arlington Cemetery, and to the city where both history and freedom reside…Washington DC. We will visit many iconic sites like the Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, and so so many more. We’ll reflect and pay tribute to the lost and survivors at the Holocaust museum. We’ll even see a Patrick Henry Speech reenactment “Give me liberty or give me death!”. As you can see this Freedom Tour is packed full of some amazing stops!
