“Who are you lifting up?” Michelle Mulimba

I had the opportunity to attend Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, Indiana annual Women in Leadership luncheon 🥗✨

First up, Amanda Cox, owner of the Know Better Company. She shared her inspiring story of going after her dreams—while pregnant with twins— because one person said yes to her idea of creating a company where she teaches leaders how to make their staff feel heard and seen.
A little bias as her friend but she knocked it out of the park. Great job, Amanda 👏🏼

🏆 Today’s honorees were:

*Jen Morrill — Scholarship & Grant Officer at Heritage Fund

Each one of the ladies are so much more than 1 title. They carry many hats. They lift others up, expecting nothing in return. They also help, serve, and guide the next generation.

Yesterday, we participated in the D.A.R.E. golf outing. We’ve supported this event for many, many years! Unfortunately, we didn’t win the steak 🥩 dinners for a year or the $10,000 hole in one—courtesy of US!

📣 We are honored and excited to announce that we are this year’s Great Girls, Wonderful Women Title Sponsor. This is the first time our office has been a Title Sponsor for an event.

I (Bri) have attended this event many times and it’s safe to say it’s one of my favorites for many reasons. My dad always told my sister and me growing up, “You can be anything you want.” Those simple words instilled something in me that has lasted a lifetime—the belief that I was capable of more and that my dreams mattered.

🫶🏼 The luncheon is designed to bring together community leaders and girls from Foundation for Youth programs, giving them the confidence that they can be anything they want to be mattered.

One might ask, “But you have THREE sons. Why does this luncheon matter so much to you?” It’s important to note, although the day of event is centered around lifting the young girls up in our community—the money raised from this event supports *both* girls and boys at Foundation for Youth:

💜 Today, our office donated $250 to Turning Point Domestic Violence Services CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) Prom. Our donation went to Malina! Malina, thank you for reaching out to our office for this great event and cause.

“When asked why she decided to participate in prom court, Malina shared that she is passionate about supporting kids, empowering youth, and helping prevent child abuse. Growing up around neglect and instability showed her how much childhood experiences shape who we become, and she believes every child deserves to feel safe, supported, valued, and loved. ”
