On Franklin Boulevard in Ohio City stands a dark stone mansion that has fascinated Clevelanders for generations. 🏰

The Franklin Castle was built in the early 1880s for Hannes Tiedemann, a German immigrant who became a successful businessman and banker in Cleveland. Its Victorian design, with a corner turret, steep rooflines and heavy sandstone walls, made it one of the most striking homes on the street.

Over the decades the house passed through many owners and uses, and it picked up a reputation as one of the most talked about "haunted" houses in Ohio, complete with tales of hidden passages and strange noises at night. 👻 Whatever you believe, its brooding silhouette is especially fitting this time of year. 🍂
