Idaho Tax Update

The State of Idaho recently made changes to their tax calculations for the current filing season. Because of these updates, you do NOT need to file an amended return if the changes affect your refund or balance due.

Idaho will automatically reconcile any differences on their end.

Some of the updates include:

• A larger standard deduction that now matches federal amounts
• New deductions related to overtime income
• Potential deductions for tip income and certain auto loan interest
• An additional deduction available for some seniors

Since many taxpayers had already filed before these changes were finalized, the Idaho State Tax Commission will automatically adjust returns as needed.

• If you are owed more refund, Idaho will send it.
• If there is a balance change, the state will mail a notice.

No action is required from taxpayers at this time.

I recently had the most awesome opportunity to pitch my idea of turning 8 entrepreneurs dreams into reality! I did not get the grant(dang it!), but I still wanted to share with you what I would have used the money for:

My ask is more than funding, It’s a bridge, a way to close the gap between idea and action, between ambition and structure.

Here’s exactly how funds would have been used:

• Small Group Business Start-Up Classes (2 classes) – $2,600

Hands-on, fun workshops where participants dive into what it really means to start a business (not boring lectures but real, applied learning).

• LLC Set-Up, EIN, City Registration (8 businesses) – $4,000

So many people stall at the paperwork. We’ll walk them step by step so they don’t get stuck before they begin.

• QuickBooks Set-Up (for 8 businesses) – $2,400

Once a business is formed, it needs structure. We’ll help them build the chart of accounts, link bank feeds, and get organized from day one.

• One-on-One Mentorship Check-Ins (2 hours each) – $1,000
