Today, UTC Veteran & Military Affairs proudly celebrates the 236th birthday of the United States Coast Guard!

We are grateful for the Coast Guard service members, veterans, students, alumni, and families who are part of our UTC community. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to our nation.

Today, we pause to remember the five service members who made the ultimate sacrifice on July 16, 2015, in Chattanooga.

🇺🇸 Sgt. Carson Holmquist
🇺🇸 Lance Cpl. Skip Wells
🇺🇸 Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith

Eleven years later, their service, courage, and selflessness continue to inspire our community. The Wreath of Honor Memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their legacy and a reminder that freedom is never without sacrifice.

Today, and every day, may we honor their memory, support those who serve, and never forget.

🎉 Happy 251st Birthday to the U.S. Army! 🇺🇸

On June 14, 1775, the U.S. Army was established, beginning a legacy of service, courage, and commitment to our nation. For 251 years, Soldiers have answered the call—defending freedom, protecting our country, and standing ready in times of need.

Today, we honor the generations of brave men and women who have worn the uniform and carried forward the Army’s proud tradition of duty, loyalty, and sacrifice.

Come support the incredible accomplishments of our military-connected students during this special Graduation Celebration. Breakfast items will be served grab-and-go style in Hooper Hall from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and the celebration is open to all who want to honor this exciting milestone.
