Spent Halloween weekend in Fort Lauderdale with a group of friends I’ve known anywhere from 12 to over 20 years.
Pretty impressive group of guys! Top-producing real estate agents, successful investors, a psychiatrist, an interior designer who travels the country for his clients, an actuary, the owner of one of the most successful real estate companies in the Carolinas… and me. Haha.
We have an absolute blast together, but what these guys probably don’t realize is that I’m always listening. Even in the side conversations, I’m picking up little bits of knowledge and wisdom from people who’ve accomplished some pretty incredible things.
One moment from this weekend really stuck with me.
My friend of 20+ years, Stephen Cooley, told me, “I see you hustling, putting in the effort, having the conversations, and doing the work. I’m impressed.”
Coming from someone who’s spent over 30 years in real estate and built one of the top teams in our area, that meant more to me than he probably realizes. A few words from someone you respect can be one heck of a motivator. Makes me want to work even harder!
Surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you, and make you better. I’m lucky to call these guys friends.
Great trip, a ton of laughs, and a little extra motivation coming home!
